Withdrawals

Withdrawals

A Poem by Sumo

Your love was my alcohol, you made me go cold turkey
You always promised me you wouldn’t hurt me

Withdrawals have me wishing for death
I miss us with every breath

Not a day passes without you in my thoughts
I cry each night wishing you had not forgot

I barely survive the days that pass by
Without your presence in my life

I know I’m better off, you didn’t love the same as I
Doesn’t change, that I wish you’d give it one more try

What I’d give for just a few more sips
A few more shots of you upon my lips

To be drunk on our love once again
Instead I’m sober during this, our end
