PushBack

PushBack

A Poem by Sumo

With almost each breath I take I struggle
Heavy trodden in this life, sometimes I buckle

Bombarded daily with ways to do wrong
Some days seem to last way to long

Born with sin, my mind plays out the scene
I’m not alone, everyone knows what I mean

The battle wages on deep inside
Wins and losses, like a battling tide

Choices presented, options weighed
Mental images dancing around neatly displayed

Conversations take place in silence
Evil attempts with corrupt defiance

Strength gathered from the need to do right
Overpowering the devils might

Turn away from the ugliness that shows its face
Remove the chance, so it may not take place

Stand firm, for victory will grace us abundantly
Ridding us of our repetitive failures reluctantly
