Eclipse

Eclipse

A Poem by Sumo

To exceed in importance or outweigh
To remove the light during the day

Stress in life seems to do the same
Erasing our joys when they should stay

Darkness will only cover our sins for so long
Then the light will shine bright exposing our wrong

Grace will give us what guilt stole
Returning you whole

We fool ourselves with beautiful lies
Telling everyone around us, next time

Caressed by ebonys touch on our skin
Suffocated from our torment within

Pride clouds what we know must be done
Subconsciously we play it out in our own rerun

We are at battle with the clock, seconds pass with none to spare
The grim reaper holds no grudge, taking us without care

This too shall pass, in this fleeting life
And the only darkness will be outside

All our sins can be wiped away in a flash
Just as quickly as the moon and sun passed
