No matter the advancements mankind has made
We still dig our own graves with borrowed spade Seven deadly sins still abound rampantly There's been no change in our own humanity Children starve while grown men and women hate Ignorance rules as fools debate History repeats itself, yet we stay the course Disregard is plentiful while we lack remorse We're at war with ourselves yet we have to include everyone else The devils disease wrecks havoc on our spiritual health Why must we rebel and deny When we could have such a happier life Creating a world without what can be prevented Instead we profit off what is invented We lose ourselves trying to keep up with the Jones's Loaning ourselves out, we don't even own us Why can't we be accountable for one another Loving thy neighbor as we love our mother Holding all our wrongs close to our hearts Making up for all our mistakes from mankinds start Feeding our spirit so we can stop world hunger Moving from that tragedy to solving another Filling this earth with love and kindness Educating the ignorant and mindless How can we ignore that this path will lead to doom Swallowing us whole, evil will consume Fight with kindness, slay with humility Creating peace and tranquility All the answers rest in our books no matter the faith Remove the masks which hide our face We must bare our souls, be not afraid Share the word, take time to explain Hold ourselves each and every one accountable These tasks are not insurmountable We have the directions to guide us daily And people blessed to teach us plainly We must wake up and care, care for us all Instead we turn a blind eye while we all fall Yet with all our inequities we still have love By Jesus who sits high above I imagine with a tear he prays never ceasing For his fathers tainted species Unworthy of salvation, the choice is still our to be made By God almighty the one who did create © 2017 Sumo |
