Perspective

Perspective

A Poem by Sumo

It's amazing how two people can perceive one action differently
It's hardest when it's done all to frequently

One feels they give up almost everything trying to please the other
Yet eventually they tell you it's not enough you discover

You're aware every trivial thing, yet to them they remain just that
Not enough importance to count, so you take a step back

All your efforts seemingly wasted, you wonder why you bother
You take her words to heart and hear her plea so you return an offer

Accepting whatever she wishes in hopes this time it's enough
Because you'll do anything for the one you love

Perception is a killer if your not on the same page
Little things build up, turning to an inner rage

Constantly on the defense, every word a sharp knife
Cutting deep and true causing so much strife

Alter you view, pick the hardest path
Relationships aren't simple math

Complicated, strenuous, basic and amazing
A mix of every emotion that still leaves you craving

Life is nothing but how you see the world before you
Take a deep breath, hold that thought and enjoy the view

Take chances, stop making excuses for tomorrow may not come
Remember where you went and where you came from

Hold those hands tight, listen to their beating heart
Relish every second together and count each one apart
