Safe Ground

For something everyone is seeking you'd think it wouldn't be so hard
Everyone afloat on the sea of life we embark

We swell with desire, our emotions high and low like the tide
Desperately trying to stay afloat during this bumpy ride

Occasionally the waters as smooth as glass
And sometimes we hang on waiting for the perfect storm to pass

Been asea so long, some holes I have to patch
Hoping my vessel is strong enough to last

The captain, the leader I search the night sky
Yearning to find my lighthouse light

That illuminated beam streaking through the night
Showing me the way that's right

Guiding me to "safe ground"
A true love there to be found

No more storms that we can't weather
A relationship meant to last forever

A crew working together, keeping this ship afloat
Proving there was a reason to hope

In the distance the sun finally sets
