Best Friend

An ex Best Friend that couldn't be my friend anymore.

Are you my Best Friend?
Or are you my enemy.
You don't betray your Best Friend.
We stay together no matter what 'til the end.
What did I do?
Did I do something wrong?
Look how far we drew.
You shouldn't be making me blue.
You should help me see things through.
I'm here for you, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
But you're making me feel sorrow.
You use to see the pain in my eyes,
while everyone believed the smile on my face.
But now, you don't care as time flies.
I guess now someone else takes my place.
You just tell nothing but lies.
We used to be weird together.
We use to play a game on who could be the best guesser.
We use to pick who was the worst dresser.
We use to be sisters before misters.
We use to have our fun laughs.
But now it's like we were never like sisters.
Now your not my first half or even my second half.
Now you're just a stranger.
Now you're nothing to me.
That's something that we can both agree.
I don't hate you, but I won't longer care if you're in any danger.
Just like you don't care anymore about me and treat me like a stranger.
But I will miss the friendship we once had.
I just wish our friendship didn't have to end this bad.
So goodbye forever.
And don't come back EVER.

This has to do with a relationship I went through with a friend. ^_^
I came up with this waay back in the years. I found the paper I wrote it on. He he. So comment whatever you want.

Beautiful. A broken heart expressing himself. True it is disappointing when person we like, change themselves with time. Good to see, the narrator accepted the fact and decided not to care anymore. But I guess, he must be thinking, wish my friend come back.

This is less than a review and more of me simply offering my thoughts on the topic of "friends". As someone who has thought a lot about the meaning of premises or virtues, such as that of friendship, it should be clear that I know how to be a friend and turn know who is my friend in return. And yet, I fail to have friends, at least those who are long lasting.

Someone, in another "neighborhood" of the internet-being of a more scientific and over logical mind- discussed to me the original nature of friendship in the human experience, and how that the original term of friendship has become irrelevant thrown away with humanity's former, tribal ways, being replaced by the services of military, hospital and law enforcement. He stated that what we think of friendship today, is just a formal concept based on the modern social ideals, based further on economics and status....I don't know what to think about it. If that is the kin of society we must be a part of, should we truly throw away the true meaning of friendship? I don't like to think so.

Such a tragedy that once best friends are now considered strangers to each other. I don't think hatred will ever come of that, just the disappointment in It all. Thank you for sharing.
