Day 2 | No Worries

Day 2 | No Worries

A Chapter by Summer

Do you find yourself constantly worrying?

No matter how much we hate to worry, we always seem to be anxious over the smallest things.  Whether it’s trying to fit in with the popular kids at school or freaking out over an upcoming math test, worry always seems to be a part of our life.  Even things like delivering a class speech or getting ready to surf in the next heat can be nerve-wracking events.

Worrying just seems to come naturally to us.  It seems like there’s always something to be anxious about.  At times, peace seems distant and unattainable.  But the good news is this: Jesus tells us that we don’t have to worry ever again! We don’t have to devote lots of time and thinking to small, everyday concerns or big, complicated problems.

But how can we stop worrying and start relaxing? It’s really as simple as placing our burdens on God’s shoulders.  If we just ask Him to take all our anxieties and stress away, He will.  And what’s more, He even promises to give us rest when we do.  That seems like a simple solution, doesn’t it? It may appear easy, but in reality, it requires a lot of faith, trust, and sacrifice.  So the next time you feel stressed or anxious over something, take that extra couple minutes to ask your Heavenly Father to carry your burdens.  It will make a noticeable difference in your life.

“Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
