Dark SummersA Poem by Ellie B
Dark summers are honeyed and drowsy,
full of woodsmoke, thunderstorms, and nostalgia. Old loves are rekindled; new loves burst into flickering flame. Dark summers are golden and sweet, full of pomegranates, jasmine, and secrets. Piano music plays from a dusty gramophone; whispered stories are carried on the soft breeze. Dark summers are lazy and gentle, full of saltwater, old books, and memories. Vintage sunglasses lie abandoned on the warm sand; dappled sunlight filters through the delicate leaves. © 2018 Ellie BAuthor's Note
