Maybe TomorrowA Poem by S.J. HolmesMaybe tomorrow you said, And I waited two days to go to bed, You didn’t come, And my heart felt numb, Maybe tomorrow… Maybe tomorrow… I would see you again. And so I waited, Waited and debated, Wondering if I’d ever see you again, Weeks passed and still no sign, Not a text, Not a call, And still I said, Maybe tomorrow… Maybe tomorrow… I would see you again. My friends told me to give up on you, To stop thinking of you, That you had taken what you wanted, And left me alone, Just like you had so many, But it’s thoughts of you, That can get me through the days, That make me happy when I feel blue, And even after all the months that have passed, All the months since I last saw you, I still think, Maybe tomorrow… Maybe tomorrow… I would see you again.
