Arid

Arid

A Poem by Sumi
"

~when I was missing someone~

"

There’s a spot, in which I feel detained.

: it’s depth of which I deeply drank,

To quench a want, a resounding need, an expanding thirst,

The longing for your sound.

And, there is no sustenance in that voice.

I longed for rain to calm my burning organs, but it is

dry and devoid of real meaning. The meaning I wish was there.

It scratched the surface, of who’s face had been desiring a

Soft touch, something to calm the nerves, to un-pinch

a sore and blistered spine that hides

With a clenched smile.

It was the surface of a dream world,

The hard part, it’s armor stopping her from realizing

What fake idealistic thoughts lied down below.

It will crack someday, and I will finally see

With new naïve eyes what I did wrong, and blame myself

All over again.
