My Spring's Day

My Spring's Day

A Poem by Sultan Basha

Blessed are the yellow petals that bloomed,

The day I laid my eyes upon you.

The moon half-full, the sky a grayish blue,
Through every moment, my love has stayed true.

My dear, I am yours, as you are mine,
As long as the sparrows dance under heaven,
Our love not rare yet pure,
For your charm, I cannot compare.

The pines’ sweet scent whispers of the evergreen’s beauty,
Its loveliness but a shadow of your grace.
I adore you with your blemish and crinkly hair,

May my heart be yours, my darling,

Until the rivers cease to flow.
