Is music life changing? Or, can a song, or a concert change a person’s life? I would like to think so but how much do people really change ever? It takes a lot to change the course of a person; it takes even more to get a person to change the course of their life willingly. Emotions are powerful but emotions fade away. So how can any impact last if it people only take it emotionally? Perhaps they can remember back to that emotional experience but can they ever truly live it again? The same exact event will never repeat itself due to the continual change which occurs throughout the universe so even if a situation is similar to something that has happened before, it will still be in a different context. The way to truly impact someone with music is to combine both reason and emotion. A person must feel in their soul that something needs to change and they must know logically in their mind that they must change. Words and music combined the right way can bring someone to change their life. It is not easy to change one’s life, so it is hard to truly convince someone to. Words of wisdom in music are what can make music last forever. Statements that hit the soul, these are the statements which are worthy of music. So much today is shallow and foolish; it does not matter! It does not have meaning! It is a waste and an insult. Music should make statements about humanity. Music should have power, and love and joy and wisdom to it.
