Waterglow

Waterglow

A Poem by Wulfstan Crumble

Globules cling to leaves
Too afraid to let go
Take the plunge
To an unknown soil.

Yet not far off
The rain pitter patters
Always tumbling
Smelling of the sea

Though I stand
Intricately sodden
As I bask
A Basilisk in the sun

Droplets embrace me
Sealing cloth to skin
As my oaken stick
Clove the moist sod

We crest the hill
As seas of green
Are captured gloriously
By our Solaris

There, in the sky
Rain and sun
If we should squint
Therell be all the colours

Of a Waterglow
Over Cotswold hills.

tripping through memory lane . . . good to find you along the way

I love the picture you paint. I don't mind getting soaked to the skin if I know that I can go and dry out afterward. It's a nice feeling once in a while to become one with the rain and the grass and the clouds. This is a truly lovely write.
