Almond Eyes

Almond Eyes

A Poem by Wulfstan Crumble

Two chocolate almonds
Sweet ovals
Reflecting my perplexed mind
I think they were yours.

Many things I do not know
About you
Your nose, ruby lips
Cute jaw and smile.

Its not an internet date
Weve only just met
Do we have to exchange rings
Before I can gaze upon you?

Two wondrous opals
Sunflowers caught in amber
Preserved for me
Captured dreams; moments.

All we can do is gaze
Boring into each others souls
Face to face
Niqab to face.
