Yon She CameA Poem by Sujash I. PurnaI don't know when I wrote it...I have just found it today lurking in a back page of some dog-eared school exercise book...I was kind of addled when I wrote it I reckon....Yon she came I know I think, Along the pathway I once strode At the vague thought now I blink And hope her delight at my humble abode. Niggling and whinging with my mind How much did she enjoy And force her past to leave it behind? Silently amused about her sheer joy, The lake that silently flowed Beside the pot-holed and windy road I shuddered at the broad Excitement that once she strode This path holding my hands, Albeit she never understands How much delight I bear in my heart, For this, this answer she gives When she’s asked about me, Not a dicky bird, That says she. © 2011 Sujash I.
