![]() Boogeyman with MarionettesA Poem by Sujash I. Purna![]() Hopelessly...children suffer the worst brunt of their parents' misdeeds and whims...![]() I have placed every hope of delight Juxtaposed with some nightmares of mine. I stare blank before the mirror As there, behind the silvery veil... There there! lurks horror! Ghost stories were long over, Children ran out of fun but I’m I’m doubtful of their last laughter… But they’ll see the man behind someday A boogeyman that so long marionetted them! Boogeyman with marionettes. I tell you what is right; what is wrong Yessir! We’re on! Consider it done! Simon says shush the truth Yessir! Yessir! We do! We do! Simon says tell the lies No worry master! We’re born to lie Simon says don’t see my faults Why would we master! You’re the God! Ours is essentially a tragic age We let go depravity and justice lets miscarriage; And now we inflict our own shame on them, These children, so daunted by their boogeymen… © 2011 Sujash I.
