Tidal Wave

Tidal Wave

A Poem by Violet O'Brien

This swelling feeling in me
Frightening
I am a monster
How could anyone love me
But you tell me I'm beautiful
You sleep next to me every night
Are your words true
Or is this all a lie
You won't leave me alone
Or let me put my walls up and get upset
You just want to know what's wrong
To try and help me thru the mental maelstrom
But what happens when you leave
Like all the rest of them did
You say this is forever now
But one day this will end
Like the perfect snow day
All of this will melt away
And I'll still be here
Insane
Teach me to help myself
Instead of helping me
Because I don't know how to be you
I'm only me
Please Help Me
