Just a Stage

They say it's just a stage.

It is just a stage.
Only a part of maturing,
To find death so alluring.
They told him this,
And so he lay her down for a goodnight kiss.

It is just a stage.
Don’t worry,
It will soon scurry,
Your daughter is fine,
And so, silently they dine.

It was just a stage.
While he lay down for bed,
She lay dead,
It is just a stage,
That now fuels this rage.

Author's Note

This is something I thought of late last night. I was kind of in a bad place, and I was thinking about how the parents would feel if they loved their child and they committed suicide. I love my dad and I'll be most regretful when I think of him if something happens to me.

Let's hope nothing ever happens to you because being a parent, that is our worst nightmare. At least it is mine. No parent wants to bury a child, anyone's child.

My friend committed suicide this year. As I read this I couldn't help but think of him. His parents told me how they never would've guessed that he was feeling so bad, but looking back I can. If I only would've know I could've stopped it, but I will never lose one of my friends again. I saved one of my friend's lives, as he was going to kill himself too. I ran to the counselor and told him everything, and now my friend is fine. This poem was amazing, and made me realize how hard it must be for the parents of these kids to have something like this happen. Thanks for helping me out.
