Just me

Just me

A Poem by Amanda
"

I'm sorry Mom.

"
I wish I wasn’t worthless,
That everything I did was right,
But I’m just me,
My soul isn’t bright,
I can barely see,
Why my mom wasn’t birth-less.

I wish I was like you,
On top of the world,
With nothing to lose,
Your toes curled,
And weightless from the booze,
I want to be free, too.

But nothing will change,
I’ll always be the worst to be,
A dog with a dirty mange,
But hey, I’m just me.

One: you are not worthless
to me you are a loved Cherished Worthwhile Angel and a very dear friend. I know it hurts when you feel rejected but remember the Light always shines at the end of a tunnel

The poem says a lot about teenage transition into adulthood, and the insecurities that come with that. I would change "A dog with dirty mange" part - it does not really speak of you well. Perhaps your last lines could be more positive and resolute, like - "But all things change, And better I will soon be, Reach for my victory, Well, that would really be me!"
