Under the TarpA Poem by AmandaThings can be forgotten and dulled until you look under the tarp once again.
Take a few steps forward,
A room dusty and dim, Memories dance in the air, Tingles on every limb. Wait with baited breath, Pull the tarp back, Stare at the shine in awe, Observe every crevice and crack. The only thing in the room, Not rusty, dusty, and such. Fingers reach out, Find it cold to the touch. After all this time, Laying in wait, Feels like this moment, Was set in your fate. Take a deep breath, Hold hope closer than before, Quietly shut off the light, And walk away once more. © 2013 Amanda |
