Parting Ways

i was bored in school

I can see it in his eyes,
I know that what we had is gone,
Our lives filled with different sighs,
We're just pulling apart.
Heading off to different places,
Taking with us our hearts.

I can hear it in the way he talks,
He doesn't love me anymore.
Our families will balk,
They thought we were the others one.
But we both know soon,
Our relationship will be done.

I watch as he walks away,
Pausing a moment to say goodbye,
Of happy memories of different days.
We walk away both still friends,
Moving on with our lives.
We both smile as we round the bend.
