Once Upon A Time

What happened to our fairytale? Our happily ever after?

I knew you once upon a time,

I swear I knew every secret, truth, and lie. 

But somewhere along the line,

Our love had crashed and was left to die.

I don't know when our fairytale life,

Became more of a dream gone sour.

We seemed to live without much strife,

Maybe it seeped away, hour by hour.

Everything has changed us now.

Our early days once filled with laughter,

Never questioning why or how.

What happened to our happily ever after?

Our story line has changed and twisted,

Our hearts now beat a different chime.

Though you pretend we never existed,

I knew you once upon a time.

Happily ever after is overrated, Some have happy endings others don't, i love the comparison how people often feel like their in a fairy tale when their in love, but when the kissy lovie dovie phase is over, it generally falls apart. This is definitely an awesome piece
