Cloudy Days

I'm really proud of how this turned out, I hope you enjoy. About keeping your head up even when you can't see the sun.

You had the perfect day planned,
Everything would go alright,
But all your plans are canned,
There’s only darkness in sight.
When you woke up this morning,
The rain chilled you through,
Made your fun boring,
And canceled whatever you wanted to do.

You tried to see the sun,
But there’s only cloudy days ahead,
No one but you gets this special treatment,
No one else has heads filled with lead.

You finally got up your courage,
To ask your love out,
But you lost it and had to forage,
For the hope that was replaced with doubt.
When you find it, its too late,
They only have sunny skies,
For a perfect, wonderful date,
You only get more lies.

You try to see the sun,
But there’s only cloudy days ahead,
No one but you get this special treatment,
No one else has heads filled with lead.

You’re feeling real alone,
It seems life is your bane,
When you’re soaked to the bone,
From all this constant rain.
And just when it’s all too much,
You’re able to find hope,
A weakness in this too strong clutch,
Because, you, my friend, know how to cope.

You can see the sun now too,
If only for a little while,
No one else gets this special treatment,
No one else can have an upward spiral…
But you.
