I'm Sorry

From someone whose life is going to end saying goodbye to a friend.

I’m sorry.

I have nothing left to say but goodbye,

Because I can’t stay and keep living this lie.

I needed to know that you had faith in me,

But you don’t, so there’s no point for I to be.

I got what I sought, my life at a halt,

Please know it is not your fault.

I think you tried, you really did,

But your hands were tied and you blew the lid.

It was then that I realized what I was asking of you,

And I idealized that you were being treated unfairly too.

I’m sorry.

I wasn’t there for you, my friend,

I care, I do, but this has to end.

I’m sick of hurting both of us without cause.

Your lack of oath but help deserves applause,

Because you, yes you, are one of the best,

All I have to do is hope you’ll accept what’s left,

That tonight when they sky is starry,

Your light will shine and see that…
