My Mind

My Mind

A Poem by Amanda
"

Rest In Peace, Kayla

"

Sometimes my mind wanders,

To the place I try to keep away from,

Where she isn’t dead,

And I don’t play so dumb.

I have no hold on my mind,

It will run free,

Making up stories of you and me,

And how things could be.

She lives past eleven,

I make amends,

Everything seems okay,

Like reality isn’t trying to bend.

Sooner or later,

The truth comes to mind,

I can’t ever leave the past behind,

Where it should stay, hateful and unkind.

I am alive.

Kayla is dead.

Can I ever thrive,

When she is hanging over my head?

I'm so sorry for your loss :( This was a beautiful poem in thought of her. Sometimes it helps putting your emotion into writing.
