Real Eyes

Inspired by a photo I saw and what I have to stop myself from doing

Take another sip,

Drink the pain away,

Cool on the lip,

Brain in disarray.

Another dose,

If you please,

Already swallowed most,

For one is just a tease.

Last little slice,

The end is near,

Death is the price,

And he's already here.

Halted this could be,

If not you were so fake,

I know you cannot see,

What I am bound to take.

Because real eyes,

Realize,

Real lies.

That does make sense--complete sense. It takes good discernment to see through the comforting little lies that booze, drugs and all the other vices throw our way.
