Meeting at Midnight

Meeting at Midnight

A Poem by Suhd
"

Inspired from Robert Browning's Poem

"
The overwhelming dread seen and felt
The same that Helen of Troy oft feared,
The distant gongs of midnight donged
While waiting for the pointy prow.
With mischief in her bosom bored
she left and dropped the epistle behind

As her feet through the fields hurried
into an old fashioned farm and waited,
Before old age could dribble through her dreadlocks,
A faint knock at the pane and calling
of her name in a hushed voice, she lighted
The candle and the two hearts lit with it.

A little mischief in your poem, can you feel? ;)
Skip that! You bloomed something romantically amazing that proves you're well inspired...The line bout Troy gave it more imaginary visuals to understand the poem well...
However, this one's a great job done by you...Thanks for sharing Suhd :)

oooo, very powerful! Some wonderful alliteration, and assonance, and the imagery is very strong. Browning certainly inspired you to great heights. One little thing, should 'bosom bored', be 'bosom bore'?
I look forward to reading more of your poems.

Wow...such whimsical poetry! Not only the 'two' hearts light with it, but also the hearts of the readers reading along did. Great use of vocabulary. Enjoyed!
