When Gravity FailedA Poem by Roisin SchmeltzLove is gained and lost.I lay down in the open grass hoping for the feeling to pass I was empty, as if removed of organ and soul by a loud, gaping hole It seemed to vaccum all sound, it lifted all life from the ground, Unwilling and unknowing, I allowed myself to fall, and in fear, I expressed all all there was to be revealed, all that had been concealed. I suddenly knew all that one knows about the love one feels, and the pain that follows. Gravity failed and I fell, it put me under a spell. I wasted so much on it, my time and energy, forfeit.
