When Gravity Failed

When Gravity Failed

A Poem by Roisin Schmeltz
"

Love is gained and lost.

"
I lay down in the open grass
hoping for the feeling to pass
I was empty,
as if removed of organ and soul
by a loud, gaping hole

It seemed to vaccum all sound,
it lifted all life from the ground,
Unwilling and unknowing,
I allowed myself to fall,
and in fear, I expressed all
all there was to be revealed,
all that had been concealed.

I suddenly knew all that one knows
about the love one feels,
and the pain that follows.

Gravity failed and I fell,
it put me under a spell.
I wasted so much on it,
my time and energy, forfeit.

Wonderfully expressed, the feeling that loss follows love and hurt is much a part of love. again, wonderful flow.

This is a great poem. Gravity, I guess you meant the alacrity which we all crave while living but when it fails sheer ennui engulfs us and we believe it had been a waste of time. Unique style. Kudos!
