Her eyes

Her eyes

A Poem by Suditi

Her Eyes

Hey teardrop, she can't take it no more,
Hey teardrop, she is making the call.
Like a parasite hung upon its host,
Do you intend to never fall?
The liquid poison just keeps accumulating in her eyes,
Robbing her slowly,
Of her once perfect sight.
The colors have all dissolved,
The shapes are all a blur,
All faces similar,
Smiles and frowns are the same to her.
The salty water is slowly starting to freeze there,
As she stops looking and seeing,
And begins watching through the thin air.
The world conveniently accepts her like that,
And gifts her compliments selfish and witty,
Tells her that her large glassy eyes,
Are so clear and so pretty.
The stillness and ice in them,
Assures them of her paralysis,
Unlike water or fire,
Which know no bounds and freely flow,
These can be tamed, ignored or covered,
And easily forgotten after they melt,
And are no more.
