How Was I to Know?

How Was I to Know?

A Poem by SuddenCognito

Poem expressing feelings about someone special to me. :)

"
- How Was I to Know? -

All those years ago,
When I first laid eyes on thee,
How was I to know,
The beauty I would see.

I would never do anything to disguise,
From those, so blue, striking eyes.
The fiery silk from atop your head,
A metaphor for my feelings, finally to be said.

As time goes by,
The more I see of you, in my mind's eye.
My longing for you a rose,
Seeded long ago, it still grows.

What am I to do,
With only thoughts of you?
However hard I try,
Nought is imagined, but you and I.

All those years ago,
When I first laid eyes on thee,
How was I to know,
How much you'd mean to me?

Overall, excellent job describing your feelings of love. Whoever it's for will definitely love it. The piece had a nice flow to it as well. Keep up the good work =]

Your stanzas are well formed and inspiring. Your muse has a another world planned. This was good.

Wow. I can only say I really hope someone will someday write me a beautiful poem like that! Loved the way it made me feel, especially the first (and last) paragraph.

Well done!
