How Was I to Know?

How Was I to Know?

A Poem by SuddenCognito
"

Poem expressing feelings about someone special to me. :)

"
- How Was I to Know? -

All those years ago,
When I first laid eyes on thee,
How was I to know,
The beauty I would see.

I would never do anything to disguise,
From those, so blue, striking eyes.
The fiery silk from atop your head,
A metaphor for my feelings, finally to be said.

As time goes by,
The more I see of you, in my mind's eye.
My longing for you a rose,
Seeded long ago, it still grows.

What am I to do,
With only thoughts of you?
However hard I try,
Nought is imagined, but you and I.

All those years ago,
When I first laid eyes on thee,
How was I to know,
How much you'd mean to me?

Overall, excellent job describing your feelings of love. Whoever it's for will definitely love it. The piece had a nice flow to it as well. Keep up the good work =]

This is a very nice piece of work. I like how you used thee at times instead of you. It made it seem even more romantic because of it. Very nice! It's very relateable.

My favorite part is this:

My longing for you a rose,
Seeded long ago, it still grows.

Clever.

I definitely like the flow this poem has, it has a beat to it. You did a great job with making sure the rhyme scheme did not make the poem sound any less serious! That's a hard thing to do. This poem is beautiful, and who ever you wrote this for is definitely lucky!
