Inquiries of the Night

Inquiries of the Night

A Poem by Subterannean

He and She exchanged salutations

in a maelstrom of alacrity

He and She exchanged irises

in an oscillation of electrons

He and She exchanged smiles

in a parade of enamel

He and She exchanged laughter

propagating sound waves

through the silver lacquer

of the humid summer night

He and She discussed the

ephemerality of today

and the evanescence

of tomorrow

He and She ruminated

upon their bodies

exacting their flesh

upon one another

choreographers of a

spontaneous carnal prose,

at last dancing that almighty

corporeal dance.
