Hero meets Demon Lord

The Ruined World

50 years ago, the battle between the Hero and the Demon Lord ended. The Humans and The Demons had finally decided to live together in one world. It's not that bad, in fact the Humans and Demons are living happily nowadays. After the Demon Lord had agreed that Humans and Demons to live together in one world, the Demon Lord chose to hide himself and no one complained about it even the Demons accepted it. No one made fun of the Demon Lord for hiding himself, that made the Co-existence plan go smoothly. 2064, the days are still peaceful and there is no need for the Hero.

This is a story about the son of the Hero that saved the Humans and demons from the war. It's about a Hero that isn't needed anymore, a Hero who is almost good for nothing, a Hero who doesn't go outside except for school.

Suiren City, a city with a population of 15 000 people. Suenaga Residence, Yuusha's Room.
「Sleepy... I want to sleep more but.....school.....」 I crawled to my closet and grabbed my summer uniform. After changing into my summer uniform, I went downstairs and ate the breakfast I prepared last night so that I don't have to cook them in the morning in case of that I wake up late. I head to the school after eating my breakfast, I made it just in time for the Homeroom class. Just like any day, the two courses ended fast and Lunch Time had already started. I leaned on my right hand and looked outside through the window I am sitting beside,
「It's hot, I'll melt...」 I mumbled silently and someone talked to me, it was a familiar voice,
「Just like always, Hero」 It was Saeki, she sat on the table beside me and she started to play with her legs.
「Ah, Saeki, Hello」 I greeted Saeki. Saeki is a friend of mine since the first year of middle school, she has a really long straight light brown hair. Instead of cutting her hair, she just tied it up as a twintail hair style. Her is just plain brown, Saeki is famous for her over to the top athletic abilities and her never ending stock of energy.
「I am happy that today is just a half day, after this lunch time and one more course then we're done! I could go to my club early!」 She looked really happy, I am jealous of that energy. She is in her high tension mode, it's really hot today but her energy is still high.
「Sleepy, wake me up when the lunch time is over」 I leaned on my desk and I could sense Saeki just sitting on the desk beside me, she was still there staring at me sleep.

Saeki woke me up.....when the school ended, I missed a course. Damn it, I'll ask someone for their notes. I went straight back to my house, in front of my door, I found a box with my name written on it. It was something I ordered from an online store, it's finally here! The Virtual Gaming System!
「Finally! I must hurry!」 I opened the box without wait. I didn't even bother to go inside my house. Inside the box, there is the Virtual Reality Gaming System. It's similar to normal default glasses. After seeing the appearance of the console, I went in my house and immediately played it. The Virtual Gaming System is suited for only one game and that game is called [The Ruined World] the game is set in the time of the war between Humans and Demons. It's suppose to relive the life of being caught between the war you never asked for. I didn't have to make my avatar and stuff since the System asked me if I wasn't to make and Avatar or just use how I look in real life.

Since the character status will start on what you could do in real life, I chose to use my real life face. My identity was already engraved in the System since I am the Hero's son. My weapon is the same as the Sacred Sword I actually have. My armor is pure silver which gleamed when the moonlight hits it. The game spawned me in a flower field full of white flowers that only exist the demon world. It was night and it's full moon, the scenery was pretty. When I looked behind me, there was another player wearing a scary but cool pitch black armor. No matter how you look at it, that guy's evil in some way. The player was wearing a full body armor which made it hard to see it's face.
「Prepare yourself! Hero!」 The player pointed it's sword to me, it's sword was just like his armor pitch black and it's letting out a lava like light.
「Eh!? The Demon Lord level right away!?」 I yelled at the thing I assumed the Demon Lord,
「This is not a Level! This a battle between The real Hero and the real Demon Lord!」 His voice is like how any Demon Lord voice in any game which was deep and echoed a lot. After he yelled the at me, he ran towards me with his blade. Since I was confident with my skills as a Hero, I didn't back down to his challenge.

I drew out the Sacred Sword, which gleamed really bright when the moonlight touched it. The golden blades of the Sacred sword looks sharp as always. When the Demon Lord reached me, I blocked his Demon Sword with My Sacred Sword. The Impact made really bright sparks, I could see the Demon lord's helmet that was covering his face. His helmet has covering his face but it was not covering his eyes. The Demon Lord's eyes was golden, it was beautiful.

I jumped backwards after taking a glimpsed of the Demon Lord's eyes. When I jumped backwards, the Demon Lord did the same. Right after he landed his feet on the ground, he immediately charged towards me, so did I. When our swords clashed again, a bright light emitted out from our sword.

at the thing I assumed (was) the Demon Lord.
My suggestion is what's in parenthesis.
Wasn't expecting the virtual twist, now I see why someone compared SAO.
