An InjusticeA Poem by SR UrieThis is about a murdering SOB who finally got caught, and of one man convicted for the SOB's crimes. An Injustice After a man’s chains are crushed to fine powder The criminal hides behind a veil of time, The hounds, terriers, and sheep dogs could bark no louder Despite backyard shell of a black man’s crime. For liberty, sweet Miss Billie can enshrine Beyond the desert sand, or Swordie’s poor hand Still she’s braced, that smile on her face for us to replace Accusations and convictions of her man. Joe’s life in ruin, his heart is not a fuel pump His old Jimmy limps beside the dark man’s rage, Found guilty, his lawyer mere justice’s chump. Grain and cheese with backyard chickens in a cage, Another man’s crime raises a lump in the rump, Stumped by the dark man’s grime and a rich man’s wage A murderer’s rage, a rapist’s sordid rhyme, Sets the stage, turns the page to God’s vengeance design.
