Sacred Dove

Sacred Dove

A Poem by SR Urie

Sacred Dove

Oh this test can’t be too blessed by sacred precious dove,

In company thus, from dust to rest, from below to up above.

Golden hair cascades to bare your carnal amorous breast,

Fierce red stare forever glares from so invested a guest,

Concealed deals eternally yield to shred my sordid nest.

There she enjoys generous poise and discriminating wheels,

So removed by what you’ve soothed falsely far too long.

She’s your kind, not my kin, denied beneath your feet entwined,

There beside your grace abides beloved hidden face,

Her mother’s bliss aloof from kiss of father’s curbed embrace.

This shamed wicked pest remains still here among the rest,

Who’d love to kneel, yet left to wield from too far to the west,

Ignorant of so long denied love, to wander the Earth alone,

Decades roamed through waves and foam for futile quest of home.
