SanctuariumA Poem by SR UrieSanctuarium
There
have been times where my mind Faced
horrible crime, my body In
such a bind that life was Far
too painful to embrace.
What
if there was a place Where
your mind could find peace, Safety,
Relief from fear And
pain and shocking violations of life?
Just
think of it; A
room just up the stairs, Large
wooden table with comforting chairs, Where
all the cares and fears Can
no longer reach your frightened mind.
It’s
where there’s an elderly couple, A
pair of God’s angels can unwind Your
terrifying pain, memories that Strain
your weak and fettered mind.
You
can relax and eat, drink your fill, Smoke
if you like, joke away the night; Where
you’re safe to be Just
exactly who you really are.
Barren,
wooden walls of oak, Dusty
floors that stare up To
the window of a painting, A
window, a door to Sanctuary.
Safety,
free from fear - pain, Protection
from evil, care from the Old
ones who’ve been beyond to Return;
Angels in this place of Love.
