Pillars of Decrepitude

Pillars of Decrepitude

A Poem by SR Urie
"

whahhm-waahhhht!

"

Pillars of Decrepitude

Majestic building, constituent delight

Of service, efficient vale of spite,

Investment wielding unto a promise,

Not so nervous still deficient sale,

Novice pledge - too good to be right.

Six catalysts of Integrity

Mis-mapped History’s lim-legged city

Where Uncle Sam’s bundled hands

Now pull the strings, tunes the schemes,

For Mister Sam no longer commands

Service to Respect for Excellence teams.

They started out so well, so true;

Beer-fart from a bell, great deal for so few,

Derive from distant steel come from the east

Where parochial ends trip tradition’s cease,

To benefit those few who look to you "

“Where ya’ gonna’ go? What you gonna’ do?”

Airwaves all play your jolly tune,

Bopping and singing from eves of June

To mornings of May where smiling eyes gaze

At the guaranteed premise through velvet haze,

Flocking in hordes to lace lined doors;

Now locked in their drawers our past prodigal days.
