Stop

Stop

A Poem by Drew Olson
"

This is very free-form, not really any rhyme or pentameter to it.

"
fall asleep
yet stay awake
how is it possible?
it's my world
look out onto
the horizon
see rainbow clouds
a sunset
promises new life
but life isn't always
in color
there are black times
when you want to end it all
there are white times
when peace seems too unbearable
and there are grey times
when you just don't know
what to think
but you know this:
you're out of control
speeding towards oblivion
wanting it, loving the thrill
of avoiding it time and time again
but someday you'll swerve over the edge
then what?
stop before the end
don't make the same mistakes I made
stop before the end
stops you
