Burning Bridges.A Poem by Casey NicoleeAbout my mom.
I come home to nice gifts, and a note on the table.
Little did I know, it was just to keep me quiet. It was just to keep my mouth shut. Not more than 3 days pass, you say that you can't handle me. You ship me off once again. News flash. Your face is all over the news, I skateboard all the way to your house. You're not there. I close my eyes, I see the yellow tape. Crime Scene. Damn Mom, what did you do this time. Those so called " Gifts." Were items that parents bought their sons for Christmas last year. You stole my innocence. You stole my pride. You stole my integrity. Then you stole everyone else s stuff. And for what? To make yourself feel better, to make you feel better? Well, I hope this makes you feel better. You are nothing but a disappointment. I'm done protecting you. I'm burning this bridge. Light a flame. Pour gasoline all over your s**t. It'll light up like the smile that spreads off your face. Hitting up on the heroine. You're as hot as a Spin cycle in the washing machine. You're high, and when you come down from that high. So many consequences. Welcome to the real world. Too bad, I'm on the other side with popcorn watching this bridge burn.
