I Am

I Am

A Poem by ~Caitlin~
"

This is a poem I wrote when I was feeling conflicted about myself.

"

I Am

I am the pure, I am the tainted
I am the darkness, I am the light
I am the love, I am the hatred
I am the stars, I am the night
I am the healing, I am the pain
I am the joy, I am the sorrow
I am the sunshine, I am the rain
I am the past, I am tomorrow
I am the dawn, I am the dusk
I am hope, I am despair
I am deception, I am trust
I am neglect, I am care
I am the finish, I am the start
I am the end, and the beginning
I am the whole, but I am a part
I am all, and yet I am nothing

I love the contradictions. It reminds me of something by Walt Whitman:

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself.
(I am large. I contain multitudes.)
