Haven't cleaned you yet

Haven't cleaned you yet

A Poem by MinorArt

White wine spills
Into black coffee stains
on stale sheets
That I can't lift
Because they're heavy
With your scent
I'm afraid to wash the last of you away

I haven't cleaned this place in days
I side step mud from your shoes you dragged
from the streets
Across my face

My skin is almost yellow today
Tired, sick
I sleep in the corner of my bed
So I don't lay on the stains
I'd sleep on the floor but
Like I said
Haven't cleaned this place in days

Having the wrong person around
is like a major stain on everything
i like the way you kept reminding the reader
you haven't cleaned up yet

it takes time ........ this element of time is very apparent in this piece

You're so right.. Thank you for your words
This is poetry. Neither too vague nor overdrawn. Strikes a cord with me. Lovely.

Might make great lyrics??
