This love didn't

This love didn't

A Poem by MinorArt

Ghost town hearts, homeless
In cities that never sleep
Racing minds, blaring sounds in beds that blaze all night
So many people to share them with
Sheets: pathways of public right
To ultimate frenzy
Giving pain a name
Loneliness
And containing it in them
The nameless faces
To occupy spare thoughts with
To fill the gaps between what moved us
What inspired us
Love takes the shape of the one for tonight
Love leaves before the morning sun
Cloaked in secrets, in the dark
Escaping light, recognition
Unfamiliar
Silly girl, you searched his body all night
But love left its heart at the door before it entered
Love picked up your pain and played with it instead for a while
But love left your pain wrapped up at the door before it left you
Love left a stain
Love took nothing more than what you gave it
And you didn't really give it much
Love brought nothing more than what you asked for
And you.. You didn't ask for much
You asked for nothing
Prayed in silence
That love would know to fix you
Love didnt
Love came and left you as you were
And when it left you remembered
That you'd waited for a love to come
And to become you
But this love didnt
