Acid Eyes

Acid Eyes

A Story by GardenofIris

Opening your eyes as the new day awakens
There as the colors of the rising sun
Oranges, yellow, and reds giving way
to the blue that soon opens the sky
Across the wind comes rolling clouds
Some darkened shuffling as the skies
Growing darker as droplets aflame your ears
vibrating you run faster
travel further
faster then you were before
you run seeking shelter from the rain
feeling each drop pulsating your skin
you move faster
remembering the news the night previously
the night before of acid rain
and how you need to take shelter from the rain
you find an abandoned building
you enter quielty
not seeing whats in the shadows
quickly you hide in the shadows
burning you shake in the shadows
lighting strikes and window shatter
reveal your presence to more delusion
empty walls return your shadows
blinded you couldn’t see it
fearing the rain in the window you run again
further now
to the basement
shaking you tumble
vibrating as you splash
