Seeds

A Poem by Cory Barrett
"

.

"
When the new songbirds arrive,
And the red wing blackbirds have left.
The seeds in the feeders are low,
On the birds move on to find something new.

The maples over drop their seeds already,
But their leaves won't turn red until fall.
It seems their reason, has less to do with glory,
And more to make sure, they are remembered. Up

The ending is brilliant. It creates remembrance and also hope for continuity

Thank you. Memory seems to be more powerful than I gave it credit for.
love the last line ending with "Up" set off by itself.
will things look up in fall? Will life open back up for one last hurrah before winter.
Will the colors be vibrant and reflect how we feel being somewhat normal again?
I guess we will see.
