Solar EclipseA Poem by MAYA!!A poem that was mostly written in a high school cafeteria.
Solar Eclipse
Escaping
Into a gentle storm of memories
Like a boa constrictor
Strangling me
Back from the time of long agos
Secret woes
And emptiness
Back from the darkness of time
When I was alone and lost
To the darkness
At midnight
Silence without remedy
Broken by the occasional glimmer
A beacon of hope
The stars, with their silver affection
And then it was summer
Cold summer
Filled slowly with the sun
I thawed from my temple of ice
But in the autumn, happy in her arms
He shattered my heart of stone
So I learned that the night
Was not meant to be
The moon changed its face
Fading away from my world
I looked to the sun
And its warmth renewed my life
It gave me its love
And became my evolution
I am in its orbit now
Despite my burns
Light is a promise
Love is forbidden
Life is mysterious
But I am escaping
If only for a moment
Into a gentle storm of memories
Like a warm breeze
Reminding me of what could have been
Frightening me with what might be
But all the while,
Making me thankful for what I have
For this single, precious, moment
And I thank you
Sunshine
For blocking out the dark
And rescuing me
From him
From myself
It was only in your light
That the moon shown.
