Lady Midnight DancingA Poem by Jethro del Cielofolklore, faerie from before Tinkerbell and magic sparkling dust.
Early in the foretold times, she danced
upon the dewdrops on the meadowgrass, she refused to be weighed down by worries not her own or by all which her children in her name have wrought She twirled across the misty morning on her own sang quietly of things she's begun and things she's undone to the endless day she was the endless dark and to her kin she was the one they wished brought down She was the Lady Midnight to some, to some unknown Sometimes she was the glimmering of things forlorn, sometimes naught to her lovers she was loveliness unbound, to her foes peril untold to everyone she touched she was a queen to worship or overthrow She said very little, often nothing at all choosing instead to into the stillness of her meadow draw each and every thing she has come to regret and all her loves and her children are thus drawn there not once but twice Early in the foretold times, she danced upon the dewdrops on the meadowgrass, she refused to be weighed down by worries not her own or by all which her children in her name have wrought © 2021 Jethro del Cielo |
