Simpl Speling...

Simpl Speling...

A Poem by Craig Lewis
"

A response to those who want to 'simplify' spelling in the English language

"

What’s the difference between difference and difrence?

The inference is it’s easier.

Silent letters are dangerous, like running with scissors,

‘So let’s not have them either.’

Consecutive vowels, are they too much to grasp?

I like that it looks like they’re queueing.

Don’t change the game or players, change the coaching

no more ‘Sit up straight. Do this. Do that. Stop chewing…’

Losing leters looks positiv on paper

but sit, and think it all thru.

They’re more than anoyances,

they’re, tools, tests and transcripts too.

Simple and fast aren’t always your friends,

remember the tortoise won in the end.
