Oh Beauty

Oh Beauty

A Poem by Cherie Story
"

I wrote this poem when I was at a Fall retreat with a church. It seems like all religions have one thing in common; that they demand a certain amount of perfection. These are my feelings on that.

"
Oh Beauty, how you look upon the hearts of men;
With strength you master pain,
With joy you overcome sorrow.
Oh Beauty, how do I seek you?
How do I bask in your presence?
You overwhelm my spirit.
I drown in your glory.
how do I live for you, oh Beauty?
How do I fill my soul with your grace?
when I feel only Grief?
Oh Beauty, how fierce is your glare,
As you look upon the hearts of men, in your perfection.
Wicked spirits flee in fear.
Oh Beauty, cry for for our wicked hearts cry,
For our sickly spirits as we fall in love
With our own destruction.
As we fall for the hearts of men.
Oh Beauty how great is your sorrow,
As we fill our hearts with bitterness.
For bitterness is blindness.
Beauty, oh Beauty, cry, cry for my wicked heart,
Oh Beauty cry for my blindness;
For i will follow your cries through the darkness
All the days of my life.

Cherie Story
So I'm new here, and this is the first thing I'm publishing on this website. I't also the first poem I wrote. If you have suggestions for grammar, or free verse, I'd be happy to read them. Thank you for reading.

Goodness, Cherie!
Talk about beauty, your words are filled with wondrously beautiful sentiments and emotion, M'Dear.
How am I the first to review this for you … just lucky, I guess. : )
The bright glow from your heart dances upon the page like happy sunbeams, up into our own hearts, minds, and souls to fill us with the brightness of your lovely spirit.
Your first poem? It is amazing how much potential you truly have, Cherie … I hope you never quit writing poetry and sharing it with others … you've a true God-given gift!

Thank you, ever-so warmly … hugs to you, Little Poetess! ⁓ Richard ; )
