My heart misses you

It aches in pain

As if covered in a shroud

Days stretch by with me alone

Till that day you come on home

 

Each day's struggle to find peace and slumber

Without your body's warmth and wonder

I hear your voice occasionally

It makes me smile so happily

To know that you are in my heart

It helps me overcome, the time apart

 

I need your voice, your warm embrace

I need to look into your smiling face

I need to nuzzle your neck and chest

To lick your skin and taste your scent

 

My loneliness knows no bounds

Simply cos your not around

My empty bed is no sanctuary

Without you there to set me free

 

I'm exhausted with the distance bourne

My shoulders heavy, heart forlorn

Every minute spent on the phone

Makes me feel less alone
